TOPIC: What's "love" got to do with it?
In a world where there is so much hate and rage, this retreat is a time to experience in greater depth the length and width of the LOVE of CHRIST.  How do we grow deeper in the love of God when there is an all-out attempt for us to be consumed with the attitudes of the world? We will examine the significance of connecting with the vertical and horizontal aspects of the cross by spending time hearing from God, experiencing His LOVE in a greater dimension, and blessing one another.  Above all, we need to know that "...God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them" (1 John 4:16), which will enable and empower us to love one another and to expel fear because His love has no fear. Come with an open heart expecting to receive everything that God has for you!

Rev. Lorraine A. Thornhill

SPEAKER BIO
Rev. Lorraine A. Thornhill has been the pastor of the First Holiness Church (Cambridge, MA) since 1997. She identifies with the prophet Isaiah in that she too has been anointed and appointed by God to bring good news to the poor, to comfort the broken-hearted, to set those who are bound free, to give beauty for ashes to those who mourn, to bring joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair. Her prophetic gifting gives witness to the anointing on a woman totally sold out for the Kingdom of God.

In addition to being the first female pastor of the First Holiness Church, Rev. Lorraine is also the first female to be elected President of the Cambridge Black Pastor’s Conference, a post that she has retained for the last three years. She is also a life coach who is on a mission to help people discover their God-given destiny; she believes that God has created all of us with a divine purpose. Before she became a pastor at First Holiness, Rev. Thornhill was a psychotherapist for Bentley College in Waltham, MA. She has a Master of Education degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gordon College and has studied at Andover Newton Theological School in pursuit of her Master of Divinity.
